What Are Your Reservation and Cancellation Policies?
Reservation Deposit & Cancellation:
Any Changes to Reservations are subject to a $50 change fee.
All rooms are subject to a 2-night minimum stay for weekend reservations. Single night, week of bookings will be considered based upon availability. All rooms must be reserved in advance and secured by credit card (PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted). At the time of your reservation, 100% of the cost of your stay (including all applicable taxes) will be billed to your credit card.
All cancellations of reserved rooms are subject to a $50 service charge. Reservations canceled before 15 Days of arrival date shall be refunded at 100%. Reservations canceled within 14 days prior to arrival date shall be charged 50% of the full scheduled stay regardless of the room being re booked. All no shows shall be charged 100% of the scheduled stay. All cancellations within 48 hours of scheduled arrival date shall be considered no shows. All cancellations should be in writing and faxed to House 5863, Inc. (773-961-8912) ATT: CANCELLATIONS. Cancellations by telephone, post or email are effective upon receipt and only upon written cancellation confirmation by House 5863, Inc. Any reservation refunds will be made within 10 days of the end of the scheduled stay. Cancellation fee of $50 will be charged for any cancellation regardless of date or time of cancellation.
The full cost of your stay is billed at the time of your reservation.
There is no refund for early departure.
All rates and reservations are based upon 1-2 person occupancy. Rates are subject to all applicable taxes. Additional guests are welcome in certain rooms, subject to availability, and are billed an additional $30 per night.
Do You Offer Parking?
We are located in a relatively dense residential neighborhood, but street parking is generally available within a block of the property. Generally, street parking is not difficult if you arrive prior to 7pm. No permit is required for street parking. We do have a garage available on a first come basis which can be reserved for $30 per night. If you require garage parking, please make a request at the time you make your reservation under the "special requirements" section of the reservation form or simply email us at info@House5863.com.
Are Pets Permitted?
No. Pets are not permitted in the guest rooms or common areas. If needed, we can recommend several boarding options or pet "hotels" that are nearby.
Do You Have Hair Dryers?
Yes. Each room is equipped with a basic hair dryer.
Do You Have An Iron and Ironing Board?
Yes. There is an iron and ironing board available. Please alert our housekeeper and the board and iron can be placed in your room at your convenience.
Where In Chicago Are You Located?
We are located just blocks from the lakefront on the north side of Chicago in the Andersonville and Edgewater neighborhood. We are three blocks from Chicago's Red Line and near several bus routes. Via Lake Shore Drive we are just a 10-15 minute drive to downtown. We are very close to Loyola University and Northwestern University.

How Do I Get to You from the Airport?
From O'Hare Airport you can take the Blue Line to the Loop and then change trains to the Red Line. Take the Red Line north to the Thorndale stop. We are located two blocks west at Glenwood and Ardmore. Traveling via the train by this route can take 45-60 minutes. Via taxi cab, the trip takes approximately 20 minutes, depending upon the time of day and weather conditions. The CTA train costs $2.25 for a single ride trip. The cost of a taxi ab via this route is approximately $30-35.
