The depositary home to literally Billions of Dollars, the Federal Reserve is one of twelve banks that form the central banking system of the United States.  The Money Museum offers great displays on the history of our currency and monetary system. This article recently appeared in the New York Times and reading it should give you pause before selecting an Airbnb property as your lodging choice. The article details how a traveler to Argentina staying in an Airbnb property was attacked by the host's Rottweiler dog. That attacked left the guest seriously injured and also with little recourse. Airbnb offers no liability for properties outside the United States and the liability that it does offer here is only secondary. That means if you are injured due to some faulty condition at an Airbnb property you must first try to get recovery from the host's homeowners insurance. This will almost certainly entail a fight and likely denial of your claim because most homeowner's insurance carriers exclude coverage for property used for commercial purposes - like renting it out to paying guests. 

Staying at a Bed & Breakfast is different as we are required to maintain commercial liability insurance to cover this exact scenario. Also, our property is inspected annually by the City of Chicago and our fire department in order to maintain our operating license. These are important measures which anyone renting an Airbnb property should consider. You must ask yourself if taking the risks to you or your family are worth the few dollars that you may save.
